Have Fun at our San Diego Hotel with a Few Simple Policies

We are pleased that you are staying with us. As our guest, we invite you to stay, relax and play and enjoy our beautiful destination. Please keep in mind the following guidelines as you enjoy our hotel. Please refer to your in room binder for complete House Rules, or speak with a staff member to answer any questions.

 *Due to COVID-19 safety precautions and current county health guidelines, some of our amenities may be limited or unavailable. 
We will continue to enhance services as permitted by the state and county of San Diego.

HEALTH & SAFETY:

 

  • Face masks are required when within six-feet of another guest (outside of your family unit) or employee.
  • Please practice social distancing of at least six-feet throughout the property, including the pool and beach areas.
  • Wash your hands frequently for at least twenty seconds, or use hand sanitizer.

Increased attention in public areas that are high-touch points and utilized most frequently, including:
  • Door knobs and handles
  • Surfaces at the Front Desk and throughout the public areas of the hotel
  • Pool and Fitness Center equipment
  • Restroom surfaces
  • Restaurant hostess stand, bar, dining tables, chairs and menus
  • Beach equipment


Additional items include:

  • Prominent signage reminding all guests to wash their hands frequently, keep social distance of six feet, and wear a face covering.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the property so Guests and Employees may continually sanitize their hands.
  • Floor markers and signage for directions and reminders on social distancing.


GUEST ROOMS/HOUSEKEEPING

  • As a safety protocol for guests and employees, guest rooms will only be serviced by housekeepers prior to the guest's arrival.
  • Housekeeping items such linens, bath products and cleaning supplies are available upon request as needed.

BEACH

 
  • Complimentary beach chairs, towels and umbrellas are available from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Four chairs and one umbrella will be available for each registered guest room. Equipment must be signed out with a beach attendant and returned by 8:00 p.m.
  • Beach barbeque rentals are temporarily unavailable.
  • Barbeques are not permitted to be used on guest room balconies, patios, or anywhere else on property.
  • Alcoholic beverages and glass bottles are not permitted on the beach. Please note that all California State Alcohol Beverage Control laws are enforced at all times.  
  • Smoking is not permitted on the beach.
 

CHECK IN & OUT

 
  • Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
 
 

COFFEE

 
  • Complimentary coffee service is available in the lobby from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m.
 

DINING

The Shores Restaurant is available for outdoor patio dining and take-out orders daily from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For everyone's safety, new guidelines are in place and must be followed while in the dining and patio area.

  • Cleaning assignments and schedules have been created and incorporated into everyone's job duties and cover all areas of the restaurant.
  • Tables and chairs are sanitized between every seating and one-time use menus are in place along with digital menus.
  • Our outdoor patio and dining areas have all been re-set to allow for a minimum of six feet between each table. *The bar and indoor dining are currently not available for seating.
  • Face masks are required for employees all the time, and guests while not seated at their table.
  • Please make sure to wear your face mask when entering the restaurant and until seated at your table. Once seated, face masks may be removed. If you need to leave your table for any reason, a face mask is required.
  • Please note that in order for your party to be seated, all members must be present. We are currently accepting parties of up to eight people.

FITNESS ROOM AND SAUNA

 
  • Usage of the Fitness Center is available through the Front Desk for single family use only. Keys may be checked out through a Front Desk Agent.
  • Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The Sauna is temporarily closed.
 

INTERNET SERVICES

 
  • WiFi is available throughout the hotel grounds and guest rooms. Please contact the Front Desk for the password (x 3600).
 

PARKING

 
  • A daily parking fee of $28 will be added to your room account. Street parking is also available in the neighborhood.
 

PETS

 
  • Pets are not permitted in the hotel. The Front Desk will be happy to assist in making arrangements for your pet.
 

POOL

 
  • The pool is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • The pool will adhere to social distancing rules and county health guidelines and a maximum occupancy capacity.
  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • No lifeguard on duty.
  • No glass allowed in the pool or spa areas.
  • The jacuzzi remains closed, we anticipate the reopening of this in the near future.
 

ROLLAWAY BEDS

 
  • Complimentary rollaway beds can be requested through our Housekeeping department.
  • For rooms with two queen beds, only one rollaway bed will be permitted.
 

SMOKING

 
  • The La Jolla Shores Hotel is a smoke-free property. Smoking is not allowed in any public area, guest room or patio / balcony.
 

TENNIS

 
  • Tennis courts are open daily from 6:30 a.m. to sunset
  • No court fees apply
  • Adhere to the posted dress code and the requirement that guests wear shoes with non-marking soles.
  • Players must provide their own equipment and new tennis balls must be used for each occasion and may not be shared.
  • One-on-one and same household group instruction is available and can be reserved through the Front Desk.
