Have Fun at our San Diego Hotel with a Few Simple Policies

We are pleased that you are staying with us. As our guest, we invite you to stay, relax and play and enjoy our beautiful destination. Please keep in mind the following guidelines as you enjoy our hotel. Please refer to your in room binder for complete House Rules, or speak with a staff member to answer any questions.

Beach

  • Complimentary beach chairs, towels and umbrellas are available from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Four chairs and one umbrella will be available for each registered guest room. Equipment must be signed out with a beach attendant and returned by 8:00 p.m.
  • Alcoholic beverages and glass bottles are not permitted on the beach. Please note that all California State Alcohol Beverage Control laws are enforced at all times.  
  • Smoking is not permitted on the beach.

Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. A later check-out time may be arranged based on availability. Guests departing prior to confirmed check out date will result in full payment for agreed-upon nights.

Complimentary coffee service is available in the lobby from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.

  • I understand that funds from my CREDIT CARD will be authorized and held for the total estimated amount of my stay, including each night’s room & tax and an additional daily amount for incidentals. I understand that these funds will be held and released 48-72 hours or longer after my departure date, depending on my financial institution. The La Jolla Shores Hotel will not be held responsible for any overdraft fees or fees of any kind as a result of this fund authorization.
  • DEBIT CARDS: I understand that funds from my debit card will be DEDUCTED for the total estimated amount of my stay, including each night’s room & tax and an additional daily amount for incidentals. I understand that these funds will be held and any credit due will be released 3 to 10 business days or longer after my departure date depending on my financial institution. 

  • Wash your hands frequently for at least twenty seconds, or use hand sanitizer.
  • Increased attention in public areas that are high-touch points and utilized most frequently, including:
    • Door knobs and handles
    • Surfaces at the Front Desk and throughout the public areas of the hotel
    • Pool and Fitness Center equipment
    • Restroom surfaces
    • Restaurant hostess stand, bar, dining tables, chairs and menus
    • Beach equipment
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the property so guests and employees can continually sanitize their hands.

  • Usage of the Fitness Center is available 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. for registered hotel guests.
  • Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

WiFi is available throughout the hotel grounds and guest rooms. Please contact the Front Desk for the password (x 3600).

I agree that my liability for my bill is not waived, and I agree to be held personally liable if the indicated person, company, or association fails to pay the amount of the charges. I agree that I am responsible for payment of any damages that may occur to the room in which I am registered. In the interest of the safety and security of our guests and property, we reserve the right to enter guest rooms with privacy cards posted.

Guests may park in the on-site parking garage for a daily parking fee of $42 added to the guest’s room account. Free street parking is also available in the neighborhood.

  • The pool is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • No lifeguard on duty.
  • No glass is allowed in the pool or spa areas.
  • All reservations require a credit card with a deposit of the 1st night’s room and tax for each week booked.
  • Advanced Purchase: This offer cannot be combined with other offers. Cancellation is 7 days. A 45-day advance purchase is required. Full prepayment is due at the time of booking. It is non-refundable after 24 hours.
  • Stays between July 1 and Labor Day must modify or cancel their reservation 7 days before arrival, or the deposit will be forfeited.
  • All other stay dates must be modified, the reservation must be cancelled seven days before arrival, or the deposit will be forfeited.
  • Stays booked under the Black Friday Sale special promotional rate are non-refundable.

A Resort Fee of $32  (plus taxes) will be added to your daily bill, including the nightly room rate and parking fee (if applicable). Click here for a list of included amenities.

  • Complimentary rollaway beds can be requested through our Housekeeping department.
  • Only one rollaway bed will be permitted for rooms with two queen beds.

Safety deposit boxes and guest room safes are provided to protect your valuables. The La Jolla Shores Hotel is not responsible for valuables not deposited at the front desk deposit boxes or in the safe in your guest room. The La Jolla Shores Hotel regrets it cannot accept liability for valuables left in rooms. 

  • The La Jolla Shores Hotel is a smoke-free property. Smoking is prohibited in any public area, guest room or patio/balcony.
  • Please respect our non-smoking guidelines as a courtesy to other guests and note that a cleaning fee of $250 per room/suite will be charged to guests who are in violation to the policy.

  • Tennis courts are open daily from 6:30 a.m. to sunset
  • No court fees apply
  • Adhere to the posted dress code and the requirement that guests wear shoes with non-marking soles.
  • Players must provide their own equipment, and new tennis balls must be used for each occasion and may not be shared.
