Michael Baker, LMT, HHP, PhD
Michael graduated from Body Mind College in San Diego. He has trained and practiced in both Eastern and Western bodywork modalities including: Deep tissue and sports massage, Swedish, Shiatsu acupressure and Reiki energy work.
Michael enjoys combining modalities to meet the specific therapeutic needs of his clients. Michael has also received a PhD in Holistic Psychology.
Michelle Burkhart, CMT, HHP
Michelle was born and raised in Dodge City, KS. She received a BFA from Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. Shortly after, she moved to San Diego where she received her training in massage therapy at Mueller College of Holistic Studies and has been a resident since 1995.
She is a nationally certified massage therapist and holistic health practitioner. Michelle specializes in Swedish, Tui Na, Acupressure, and Cupping therapies. She strives to continually learn more to deepen her skills. Michelle’s mission is to be a vehicle for natural healing by bringing balance to the body, mind, and spirit in order to help her clients regain their inner peace and strength.
Mischa Lee LMT, HHP
Mischa was born and raised in San Diego and lived in the Lake Tahoe area for 25 years before returning to San Diego. Her original education was as a pre-med anatomy and physiology, along with two apprenticeships studying and practicing traditional Japanese Zen Shiatsu and Chinese Meditative massage.
Since her initial training over 30 years ago, her intuitive way of working has expanded to include deep tissue techniques, sports massage, Swedish, pregnancy massage, reflexology, Ashiatsu and an ability to continually learn from and adapt her work to each client. Mischa enjoys developing a real understanding of what an individual needs during a massage, whether she sees you once or on an ongoing/regular basis. Mischa feels very fortunate that she loves what she does and has the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the health and well-being of her clients.
Lindsay Stec CMT, HHP
Lindsay moved to San Diego from Chicago to pursue her passions in natural health, bodywork, fitness and yoga. Lindsay graduated from the Professional School of Bodywork with two specializations in the Rolf Method of Structural Integration and Relational Somatics Bodywork.
She is intrigued by the dynamics of the physical body and is currently pursuing her personal training certification to gain an even deeper understanding of the body, movement and sports injuries. She uses a preventative and restorative approach in relationship with her clients to provide them with tools for optimal health and wellness.
Blythe Tagawa CMT, HHP
Blythe was born and raised in Los Angeles and has been a resident of San Diego since 1993. She grew up playing competitive sports including soccer, tennis, and swimming and quickly learned the importance of both pre- and post-event care for athletes, including massage and proper stretching. This interest in sports care is what eventually led her to choosing her career in massage therapy.
She is nationally certified as a massage therapist and also received her license as a Holistic Health Practitioner. She attended the International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego where she specialized in both Sports Massage and Seitai Shiatsu. She also integrates the work of Thai Massage, which she believes is an effective combination of yoga and acupressure.
Joanna Ward CMT, HHP
Joanna was born and raised in Washington and moved to San Diego in 2001. She studied massage therapy at the International Professional School of Bodywork and received her HHP in 2008. During her studies she focused on Asian healing arts and nutrition.
Joanna’s massage practice focuses on the health of the whole body. When the body is relaxed and free from stress and pain it can better heal itself. She strongly believes that balancing Eastern and Western approaches to health are important in treating illness and injury and that prevention is the absolute best medicine. Joanna is trained in many modalities and blends them into each massage to create a personalized session based on the needs of each client.
Connie Youngblood HHP
Since completing her initial training, Connie continues to take classes to broaden her practice. Connie knows many modalities making her very versatile. By varying her touch and style, she accommodates the individual therapeutic needs of her clients.
Connie believes in being pro-active about health and incorporating massage is an important way to promote well-being and longevity. She works with compassion and intuition which enhances every part of the massage she gives.
Heather James, CMT
Whether you have specific injuries that need attention, or would simply like to enjoy a relaxing Swedish massage, Heather is sure to help you feel rejuvenated.
Heather James began her career in Eugene, Oregon as a licensed massage therapist in 1999. Her passion for athletics led her to become certified in advanced deep tissue and sports massage. She moved to Hawaii in 2001 and became certified in Hawaiian (Lomi) massage. There she enjoyed working with many tourists and competitive paddlers. In 2014 Heather became a C.M.T. in California and relocated to San Diego. She has worked with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from professional athletes to people with repetitive stress syndrome, as well as those who simply would like to maintain optimal health. She encourages cross-training, stretching, hydration, and rest.
